| I live halfway between Baltimore and Washington
with my husband, Bruce, an architect, and our two Glen of Imaal terriers,
Bridie and Gracie. Since 2005, I've worked at the Washington Post, first as
a freelance writer and now as an editor on the Metro desk.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, I worked in a small
hotel in the west of Ireland with a college friend. Much later, I wrote
about our adventures in a story that won a prize for feature writing, and
the experience of living in a remote area of the country deepened my love
for Ireland. My friend, Colleen, now has a home there, and I try to get back
every chance I get.
My brothers ,Jim, Mike and John, still live in the Midwest, and we get
together about once a year. I miss Madison and New England, where I spent
about 18 years as a reporter, editor and columnist for the Hartford Courant.
I hope you are all doing well, and wish the best to the Class of 1969! Mary

| Well hear I go I'm not real good at Bio's but
when I graduated I went to the University of Stevens Point and after the
first year I was home and that's where I met my wife she had just graduated
from Madison East. We fell for each other and that's where it all began. We
were engaged in 1972 and Married in 1974.
I enlisted in the Air National Guard in 1971 but didn't see any time in
Vietnam.
I started with Sentry Insurance in 1974 and retired from there in May of
this year. I've picked up a job at the Horton Company.
In all of that we did manage to have two girls. Kelly born here in Wi
8-4-76 and Brooke born in Georgia 2-18-81 They have made us so proud through
the years. Both are married and now have given us our precious
grandchildren. Avery Noel born 8-2-08 and Cooper Hugh born 2-13-09 Needless
to say our lives have gone full circle. We continue to keep busy with them.
Also I keep real busy with all of my activities. Hunt is my passion. I've
hunted Deer for ever and have in the past few years picked up on Bear
hunting got my first one in Wi but now have picked up on Hunting for them in
Canada. Before I get too old I'd love to Hunt in New Zealand. Or Africa
. Really enjoyed seeing old classmate for our 40th and hope to see
you all for quite some time. Gary Fitz |
