George Hartung

I am alive and well in Minnesota where I have worked for 30 years in the tech industry. I have
been with Jamey, my better half, for sixteen years.

I miss Madison. I truly believe it is one of the most beautiful cities in the nation, both visually and spiritually. The only reason I really left was for employment opportunities.

Go Packers!
Be Happy, and, best of luck to you all!

Shari Harper (Kruse)

After high school a brief first marriage and a stint at the UW I moved to California to pursue my dream of being a singer. I lived in San Francisco for awhile and eventually moved to Monterey where I sang in jazz clubs. After a couple of years livin' the dream got old and in 1974 I moved to Seattle, married Tom Lorenz, and began my career in real estate. Tom Passed away in 1979.

Over the next few years I worked like a fiend at my new career and found out how much I really enjoyed sales! I met Robert, a general contractor, and in 1982 we married. In 1983 we had a beautiful daughter, Eve. Isn't it amazing how time seems to accelerate as you age? Evie is 25 now and just a fabulous woman! She is continuing her studies at the University of Washington and running her own landscaping business.

Life in Seattle has been good! My real estate career continues to bring me a great deal of satisfaction. Robert and I share a love of the outdoors and whenever possible (not often enough) we spend time at our "ranch" on the Columbia River in Eastern Washington. A beautiful and very remote place.

Our daily lives revolve around our respective work, environmental causes, and family. We live about three blocks from the water and enjoy a sweeping westerly view of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. In my spare time I love to walk, read, play music, listen to concerts and especially garden! The Northwest provides the most amazing gardening opportunities! In 1990 my parents also moved to Seattle and are still in their own home. Our roles are rapidly reversing and I cherish the time I am able to spend with them.

As I said, Life is good! I'm looking forward to seeing the West High class of 1969 reassembled in August. Just thinking about it makes me smile.

Four years at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa followed graduation from Madison West. I earned my BA in Physical Education and Health. Then I earned my Masters Degree from UW-Whitewater evenings while teaching during the day. I taught Specially Designed (Adaptive) Physical Education for 30 years, Early Childhood (3 year olds) through Grade 12. I retired from the Mukwonago Area School District in August 2006.

My husband, Tom and I have been married for 36 years and have lived in our home on Pewaukee Lake in Pewaukee, Wisconsin since March 1975. We enjoy boating and sunsets. Tom retired from the State of Wisconsin as a Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for 30 years in 2001.

In February/March 1995 we went to China for 2 weeks to adopt our daughter, Tina. She was 7 months old. Today she is 15 years old and entering 10th grade at Pewaukee High School. She is involved in sports, music (piano and drums), robotics, key club, honors classes, is a merit award winner...just to name a few of her activities. What can I say...proud parents! Attending all of her activities keeps us quite busy! Good thing we are retired!

We take time to travel, too so Tina can see our country...Washington, D.C., New York City, Boston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Ft. Myers Beach, Florida for Christmas, and our favorite...Disney World for Easter and summers, too. One summer we also visited London and Paris. We do have fun. I enjoyed seeing pictures and reading about classmates.
