This is my wife Sandy and myself on the way to Monte Carlo for a cruise around the boot of Italy. We had a great week before touring Normandy, the beaches and the countryside. What a fantastic experience.

1969 doesn't seem that long ago. A Quick Bio, which I have never been asked to do before, so that may clue you in.

I have been very happily married for over 28 years to my best friend in the world, Sandy whom I met at UW Madison. She is a graduate of the UW & I attended, and had a lot of fun! Maybe too much fun. We have our home in Belleville Wisconsin which is on the Sugar River / Lake Bellevue. The birds and wildlife and just the sounds of nature are some real pluses living here. We enjoy biking, canoeing, traveling and Life.

I work in sales / marketing for a grocery wholesale company in Madison and Sandy & I also have two websites where we market products and services for over 600 companies.

I really appreciate Bill and Rick and all of their efforts to put this Web Site together and keep this class informed. I also encourage all of my classmates of 1969 to just respond. It's really neat to hear / see / read about the accomplishments, successes or just where you are are. We all have some interesting stories and I personally would like to hear or read them. This is what makes life such a great journey.

I'm looking forward to reading more bio's and just hearing from all my friends.

I have really enjoyed reading the bios that have been submitted so far and would have sent mine sooner, but we have been in the process of moving to Florida from Wisconsin.

My wife Mary and I have been married for 22 years and we have 3 children, Rita 33, Sara 30 and Brian 28, all from previous marriages. We also have two grand children, James 9 and Kayla 3.

I graduated from the UW-Madison in 1973 with a business degree. Since then, I have had a variety of jobs, including a short stint in the air force, nine years with United Bank of Westgate as a loan officer, 7 years with Verex a now defunct mortgage insurance company and 15 years with E.Z. Gregory, a small family owned wholesale distribution company which was sold 5 years ago. I sort of backed into retirement without realizing it when my employment contract expired in 2005 and I no longer had a job.

Since then Mary & I have spent some time traveling, we backpacked for 8 weeks in Europe and have spent the last 2 winters in Florida. We finally decided to move here because we grew tired of Wisconsin winters and so that we could be closer to my Mom. We still love Wisconsin and plan to spend a lot of time there during the summer. We feel very fortunate.

Thanks to Bill & Rick for their efforts in keeping the class in touch, it is really fun to find out what everyone has been up to since moving on from West High.

How neat to read the bios posted here. I'd sure like to hear from more of us. A day in the life of a hard working guy? An hour in the day of a working mom of a very special son, both who carry the universe forward in its purest form. Holders of Lineage of Che: I'm sure the road to Hanoi continues from California Coast. The upsters, the downsters, the middle of the roaders, the rocks, the rolls.  A detail that happened on the campaign to the U.S. Senate? Maybe the Ms will landslide the next election? Who are we anyway?

Here's my story: Unrealistic goals punctuated by small practicalities have been my life's driving force. To ascertain the nature of the subtle body and its development, to aspire in evolution, and help others along the way when the subtle and physical are in disharmony, have kept my life in motion. After graduating from college in Fort Collins Colorado with a degree in social work, I pursued the yogic dream living in a quarter sized 1953 International Harvester school bus. In high mountains I learned edible plants and herbs by book and by taste. Only once did I mistake hemlock for wild carrot giving me a crash course in the breadth of the mortality-immortality continuum. I gratefully returned to the living.

I began my second career in 1986 finishing as a doctor of Chinese medicine (Licensed Acupuncture Herbalist) from a Bay Area school. My teachers had been directors of Chinese hospitals and herbal department heads, dating back to the 1930's and '40's. They felt privledged leaving the hardships that China was facing in the 1980's to teach here. After three years of private clinical practice and public service as the AIDS epidemic rattled the terrain like the Loma Prieta of '89; I returned to our so loved Madison, free of crack wars and where the cost of a dwelling is less than a Hong Kong skyscraper.

Currently I have a clinical practice in Middleton and work for Group Health Cooperative's Complementary Medicine Department where I treat and sometimes succeed in resolving complex and difficult medical conditions without the myriad side effects of prescription medications. I recall kindness of many teachers.

I think about those who have gone away. Single, I fully intend to get married if either I become old enough or wise enough.

Wow it’s been a long time! But I’ll try to keep it concise. Those of you who knew me knew that I was a wine, women and song guy. Add golf to that and I haven’t changed. My life has been all ups with a few downs but never boring. My mother died last Christmas, I’ve had 2 divorces, skin cancer and an appendectomy but that’s nothing compared to the good times. After escaping a crazy marriage (thanks to Gary M) I moved out to San Diego. My grandfather had given me some money to invest so I bought a piece of Pacific Stereo and went to work for them. The chain grew to over 100 stores doing $200,000,000. When CBS bought us out, I got a huge return on my money. I took that and bought 60 cheap acres of land in Sonoma, 35 planted to Old Vine Zin and the rest to a variety of grapes. In 2005 I sold off 25 acres for 10 times what I paid for the entire plot. I (my guys) now am the grower for several of the best Dry Creek wineries. I throw parties there in the summer for friends and wine club members. But back to the ‘80s-after selling out of Pacific Stereo, I got really serious about golf. I had moved up to Seattle with my 2nd wife and had some money to invest besides the vineyard. I was playing golf almost everyday at my club where I got to know a guy named Craig McCaw. He was a golf nut and a real techie and told me about something called cellular phones. The FCC was about to start a lottery for people to buy a license to operate cellular radio service all parts of the US. I thought he was nuts but he talked me into buying quite a few. In a few years he purchased my licenses and sold them with his to Comcast. If only I had bought as many as he did! But that let me retire in style. I continued golfing and eventually became a PGA teaching pro just to have something to do. I don’t teach anymore as the winery takes up my time. These days I have also taken up playing tenor saxophone in blues bands. It is my passion along with wine and golf. I’ve been fortunate enough to play alongside some of the best bands in the Northern California area such as Tommy Castro, Roy Rogers, Huey Lewis and Walter Trout. Life is good! If you wonder how I had time for all of this, my 2nd wife and I knew we weren't the parent types so I had my tubes cut at 28. Best decision of my life! I can enjoy my nieces and nephews but spend most of my time with adults. Cheers!!
